D-2302 in the contest

D-2302 was piloted in the contest by Wolfgang Stein/Mechanic Aumann. In the enroute contest it was the second fastest aircraft after the Heinkel D-2260 of Hans Seidemann. Average speed 208km/h, full score!

After the contest

This aircraft had an interesting history, because it has been gifted- allegedly by A. Hitler personally – to B.Mussolini. In Italy, it was registered I-AERO. Despite multiple efforts, I could not gain further knowledge about its italian fate.
